Feb 25, 2018 · My interpretation of the video is that it indicated that the leaky resonator (silencer) caused the swirl valve linkage to malfunction, not the EGR. IIRC, resonator oil leakage is not a problem that has surfaced often, if at all, on this Forum.

One tip for those running vans with unknown maintenance records is to just replace both hoses and keep the old ones as spares (or just have replacements on hand and onboard). Your choice.

Aug 4, 2024 · OM642 3.0 V6 Resonator Delete Kit? Is anyone aware of a turbo resonator delete kit available for the NCV3's with the 3.0? I got the P0299 boost error and wouldn't mind removing a known weak link in the system as I work through it to find the leak.

This resonator was installed in all Mercedes OM642 Engines and a very few later model 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee's. The turbo resonator is made from machined aluminum and mandrel bend aluminum tubing. Bolts in place of the factory resonator.
