Apr 20, 2011 · I remember a critic saying something like "It was a civil war movie, made for civil war buffs, by civil war buffs." He ended up hating the movie. I think people go into these movies expecting full on Saving Private Ryan and Fury type war movies....they don't realize they're getting a slow burn character piece that happens to take part during a war.
