Blackthorne was a town in Blackthorne County, Texas during the Wild West era. During and after the American Civil War, Pat Cronin served as its sheriff, and, in 1865, the town was the site of a shootout between Cronin, Colonel Cord McNally, and Confederate veteran Pierre Cordona and a four-man posse from nearby Rio Lobo.
