The Imperial City (Vietnamese: Hoàng thành; chữ Hán: 皇城) is a walled enclosure within the citadel (Kinh thành; chữ Hán: 京城) of the city of Huế, the former imperial capital of Vietnam during the Nguyễn dynasty.

Hue Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a treasure trove of Vietnamese history, culture, and architecture. Located in the central region of Vietnam, this ancient city was the political, cultural, and religious center of the Nguyen Dynasty, the last ruling dynasty of Vietnam.

Located by the Perfume River, Hue Imperial City and Forbidden City are the 2 nd and 3 rd walls of the Citadel, seat of Vietnamese power from 1802 to 1945. These are home of luxury-decorated palaces, residences, theatre and pavilions, for Nguyen emperor and his family.
