The response comes after X's Grok chatbot began spewing antisemetic and pro-Hitler comments earlier this week.

In a series of posts on X, the AI chatbot Grok apologized for what it admitted was “horrific behavior.” The posts appear to be an official statement from xAI, the Elon Musk-led company behind Grok, as opposed to an AI-generated explanation for Grok’s posts.

AI apologized for its Grok AI chatbot's abusive and anti-Semitic behavior, attributing it to a deprecated code update. The company has since removed the problematic code and refactored the system to prevent future incidents.

It isn't immediately clear what led to the disturbing posts, whether due to a fault in the chatbot's programming or if Grok was just following orders.

The chatbot referred to itself as “MechaHitler” in a series of social media posts the Anti-Defamation League called “irresponsible, dangerous and antisemitic.”
