Among the Sensex constituents, Larsen & Toubro gained 4.31% after reporting a 14% increase in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 3,359 crore. Nestle rose 4.25% following its announcement of Rs 688.01 crore net profit for December 2024 quarter.

Indian stock markets moved higher during the trading session on Friday, ahead of the Economic Survey, which shall be presented in the parliament later today.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a mildly positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,438 level, a premium of nearly 20 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The S P BSE Sensex was up 601.33 points to 77,361.14, while the NSE Nifty50 climbed 215.40 points to 23,464.90 as of 12:50 PM.

The BSE Sensex rose 226.85 points., or 0.3% to finish at 76,759.81. Similarly, Nifty 50 gained 86.4 points, or 0.37% to end at 23,249.5.
