The storms pushed through Windsor around 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. local time, arriving with strong wind gusts and heavy rainfall.
The Sudbury area is under a severe thunderstorm watch that could produce severe wind gusts, a tornado and heavy rain. Environment Canada said Saturday that wind gusts up to 110 km/hr, heavy downpours, and an isolated tornado are all possible this afternoon and into this evening.
So far this year, 17 tornadoes have touched down in Saskatchewan, according to a Western University-based tornado tracking project — 10 of which hit the province in a single day.
