COLUMBUS, Ohio — Walk-on defensive end and content creator Caden Davis is no longer with Ohio State football. The news was first reported by The Lantern on Wednesday morning with OSU football’s Sports Information Director Jerry Emig confirming Davis' departure.

Ohio State football is only a few days away from kicking off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoff National Championship game. Still, some drama and distraction have entered the news cycle as the Buckeyes have dismissed walk-on defensive lineman, Caden Davis.

The player had not appeared in a game with the Buckeyes but had amassed a large following across a variety of platforms on social media.

Ohio State is preparing for the National Championship but will be down a player after dismissing defensive end Caden Davis ahead of the title tilt.
