Authorities say a man fatally shot a Texas sheriff’s deputy in Houston, prompting a massive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

A manhunt ended in Texas when a Houston man accused of shooting and killing a deputy serving a warrant on him in the parking lot of a Dollar Tree, was fatally shot by police.

Brazoria County Sheriff’s Deputy Jesus Vargas was shot and killed while trying to serve a warrant. Vargas approached violent fugitive Robert Davis in a parking lot. Davis shot him in the head and ran away.
