The FBI has released a new photo of New Orleans terrorist attacker Shamsud-Din Jabbar as they continue to investigate what motivated his New Year's attack on Bourbon Street.

Germany's interior minister said the man charged in the deadly attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg had "striking signs of a pathological psyche."

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the driver behind the Bourbon Street attack on New Year’s, researched New Orleans and the deadly Christmas market attack in Germany in the hours and weeks before the attack, the FBI said in an update Tuesday.

Abdulmohsen, a 50-year-old doctor from Saudi Arabia, had expressed anti-Islamic views and described himself as a Saudi dissident, an official said.

At least five people are now known to have been killed in the vehicle-ramming attack on a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg on Friday.

In Berlin in 2016, Anis Amri, a failed Tunisian asylum seeker with Islamist links, plowed a truck through a crowded market, killing 12 people and injuring nearly 60 people. Among those killed was a truck driver from whom Amri stole the vehicle, according to German broadcaster DW .
