French investment company Wendel said on Monday it was in exclusive talks to buy a majority stake in engineering consulting group Scalian for an enterprise value of 965 million euros ($1.06 billion).

French investment company Wendel will acquire U.S. asset investment firm Monroe Capital , it said on Tuesday, with an initial investment of $1.13 billion for 75% of the company's shares.

Wendel said the team from Boxcraft Studio, led by owner Candice Urban-Green, joined its ranks, bringing experience working on projects in the retail, office, medical and hospitality fields.
