The coronation portraits of King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla were officially unveiled Tuesday, two years to the day since the historic coronation.

Coronation portraits have for centuries been a traditional part of the crowning of a monarch. Early reaction to these has been positive.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla unveiled their portraits, painted by Peter Kuhfeld and Paul S. Benney, respectively, to commemorate the second anniversary of the couple's coronation.

The official portrait of King Charles III replaces that of Queen Elizabeth II in Canada's government offices and public spaces.
