PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A man was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after he was bitten by his own dog in Providence, according to city officials.

And back in Rhode Island, East Providence officials will be celebrating a different independence day today, with a flag raising honoring Cape Verde.
