The oldest known tablet inscribed with the Ten Commandments from the Old Testament is expected to fetch up to $2 million when it goes up for auction next month.

Next month, the auction house will offer the oldest inscribed stone tablet of the Ten Commandments, dating back to 300 to 800 C.E. The 1,500-year-old artifact is expected to fetch up to $2 million during the single-lot sale on December 18.

For thirty years, the plaque served as a paving stone at the entrance of a house, with the inscription facing up and exposed to foot traffic.
