The blood-stained leather gloves that were in Lincoln's pocket the night he was assassinated were among the 144 items up for bid, 136 of which sold.

Lincoln's assassination artifacts, including gloves and a "wanted" poster, fetched high bids at an auction to repay a loan by the Lincoln Presidential Foundation.

The gloves were the top-selling items at the auction, bringing in $1.52 million. One of two handkerchiefs Lincoln had with him April 14, 1865, the night he was shot, went for $826,000.

Students stepped into their classroom turned courtroom this week to retry the Lincoln assassination conspirators, under the rules of a civilian court.
