ALLEN PARK -- Za’Darius Smith is being released by the Detroit Lions ahead of free agency, per multiple national reports.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Lions have released Za'Darius Smith. Smith spent the second half of the 2024 season with the Lions to try and bolster the team's pass rush while they dealt with the absence of Aidan Hutchinson.
The Lions have opted to give an injury-riddled 2024 addition one more chance, re-signing Marcus Davenport on Saturday.
Marcus Davenport will remain in place with the Lions for next season, but the same will not be true for Za'Darius
