After making her directorial debut on Season 3 of The Bear, Ayo Edebiri has been recognized by the Directors Guild of America for her work. Edebiri, who also stars in the series, received a nomination on Tuesday for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series at the upcoming DGA Awards.

"The Bear" leads Comedy Series nominations at the DGA Awards 2025, despite its perceived Season 3 slump. Documentaries "Sugarcane" and "Porcelain War" also get a boost from the guild ahead of Oscar nominations.

Other shows with multiple nominations include "The Diplomat," "True Detective," "Hacks" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

The Directors Guild of America has named the nominees for its 2024 awards in the outstanding directorial achievement in television, commercials and documentary categories. “Shogun,” “The Bear” and “The Penguin” all lead with three nominations each.

Shōgun, The Bear, and The Penguin led Tuesday’s 2025 Directors Guild of America Awards nominations in the TV, commercial, and documentary categories. In drama, Shōgun took up three of the five spots for the episodes “Anjin,
