Nissan said in its announcement that a failed engine can lead to a “loss of motive power" and increase the risk of a crash.

We recently covered how Nissan scored an acknowledgment from J.D. Power in the 2025 US Initial Quality Survey, with the maker of the Altima being named the best mainstream brand to own, boasting fewer problems per 100 units than competing automakers.

The recall involves certain Nissan Rogue and Altima vehicles, as well as the Infiniti QX50 and QX55 powered by VC-Turbo engines.

Nissan is recalling nearly 443,900 vehicles across certain models under its namesake and Infiniti brands in the U.S. over a faulty part that could cause their engines to fail.

Dealers will inspect the engines, and in cases where it's necessary, they will replace the engine for free.
