HARRISBURG, Pa. — Swatara Township's Emergency Management Agency announced it has opened a cooling station at the township's municipal building, due to the this week's excessive heat.
On Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13, from noon to 4:30 p.m. residents can stop into the “Swatara Room” at the Township Municipal Building at 599 Eisenhower Boulevard in Harrisburg.
There is also a drop box available in front of the Swatara Township Municipal Building, the township said. The Swatara Township Police Department is actively investigating this matter.
The fire started from an overheated fluorescent light, said Swatara Township Fire Marshal Pat McKenna. Damage to the building is estimated at $100,000. Firefighters were on the scene for two hours.
