Laura Shipp, 50, of Las Vegas, got separated from her son, who is described as the “light of her life,” when the shooting began at Route 91 Harvest country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip.

Erick Silva, a security guard who was working at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, tried to lead others to safety before he was killed Sunday during the mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.
