After a blockbuster move sent Fox from Sacramento to San Antonio, there could be some issues with him retaining his current No. 5 jersey number.

Don Harris of WOAI-TV in San Antonio reports that the former NBA All-Star guard Fox has changed his mind and will now wear No. 4 as a member of the Spurs. Harris notes that Fox is paying tribute to his wife Recee, a former women’s basketball player who wore No. 4 in college at Texas Tech.

The Spurs haven't given the jersey to anyone since Kawhi Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2018. Leonard ended his Spurs' tenure on a sour note, and fans were quick to make jokes at his expense. "Instantly the best #2 in Spurs history, off the top of my head," posted one fan.
