Pictures show a gaping hole with rubble falling into the sea at the South Quay wall at Hayle.

Firefighters, paramedics and the coastguard were called to reports a woman had fallen 5m (16.4ft) from South Quay, in Hayle, at 11:00 GMT on Saturday, according to Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.

Now called Hayle North Quay, the scheme will see 520 private and affordable homes, shops, restaurants, offices and commercial spaces created by 2030.

Administrators Moorfields Advisory said they had been appointed to oversee the North Quay development in Hayle. The 100-acre development (40.4 hectares) is located within a World Heritage Site.
