After striking a deal with tight end George Kittle, the San Francisco 49ers could be nearing an agreement with quarterback Brock Purdy on a long-term contract. On the latest episode of the Scoop City podcast (starts at 8:45 mark), The Athletic's Dianna Russini said Purdy and the 49ers are "closer" to a deal than is being reported elsewhere.

The 49ers just agreed to a massive deal with star tight end George Kittle, so putting a deal together for Purdy could be huge for them. This would solidify the quarterback position for years to come and give the team some stability going forward. Last season, Purdy threw for 3,864 yards with 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 13 games played.
