The Dallas Cowboys requested an interview with Leslie Frazier for their head coach position, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. He is the second known interview request, along with former New York Jets coach Robert Saleh.

The Dallas Cowboys completed an interview with Seattle assistant Leslie Frazier on Monday, the third external candidate to meet with the team in the search to replace former coach Mike McCarthy.

The Cowboys are closing in on a deal to make offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer their new head coach, Clarence Hill of All City DLLS reports. Hill said the sides are expected to “cross the finish line” today or no later than Friday.

One name appears to have risen to the top of the Cowboys’ list in the search for the 10th head coach in franchise history. Brian Schottenheimer has become the first candidate to interview with owner Jerry Jones over the course of two days.

For some of those teams, that will involve finding new head coaches and/or General Managers. Three teams fired their head coaches during the season and two more have been dispatched as of 9 a.m. ET on January 6.

The Dallas Cowboys head coaching search hasn't instilled any faith that the organization has a plan going forward.

With Glenn going to New York, Johnson heading to Chicago and Mike Vrabel already in New England, four head coaching vacancies remain. The Saints, Jaguars, Raiders and Cowboys are still in the hunt. Johnson, who was Detroit’s offensive coordinator, picked the Bears on Monday, two days after the No. 1 seeded Lions lost to Washington.

The Cowboys interviewed Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who played for the team and then served as Dak Prescott’s play-caller for four seasons. Dallas also interviewed former Jets coach Robert Saleh and former Vikings coach Leslie Frazier.

Like Johnson, the Cowboys never even showed the slightest bit of interest in Glenn, which is somewhat strange. Glenn, who was a longtime cornerback in the NFL, played in Dallas under Bill Parcells. Considering they knew him well, it seemed as though they would at least want to have a conversation with Glenn.
