With the Houston Texans trailing the Kansas City Chiefs 13–6 in the third quarter of Saturday's AFC divisional round playoff game, Houston running back Joe Mixon was on a mission to pull his team even in the biggest game of the season.

Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee), right guard Shaq Mason (knee), offensive lineman Juice Scruggs (ankle) and wide receiver Robert Woods (hip) also were active. Woods did not practice all week and had been listed as questionable.

But an ankle injury popped up this week, with reports that he practiced a bit on Wednesday and wasn’t on the field for Thursday’s walkthrough, per Texans Wire.

The NFL referees can make or break the game, and they certainly did that on Saturday and Joe Mixon was not happy about it. In the first quarter of Saturday’s playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Will Anderson got called for a controversial roughing the passer penalty on a sack of Patrick Mahomes. It led to three points.

Texans running back Joe Mixon will play today against the Chiefs. Mixon was listed as questionable with an ankle injury, but he’s active and good to go. The Texans’ inactives are RB J.J. Taylor, LB Devin White, DE Jerry Hughes, C/G Kendrick Green, G Nick Broeker and DT Kurt Hinish.

The do-it-all running back for Houston was a late addition to the injury report this week, clouding his status for the weekend matchup in Kansas City. The Texans already have dealt with plenty of issues at the receiver spot this season, only adding more to Mixon's plate.
