If Dallas Cowboys fans weren’t upset with team owner Jerry Jones for the way he handled parting ways with former head coach Mike McCarthy, they certainly are now after the latest development in the team’s head-coaching search.

By dragging their feet over the Mike McCarthy catastrophe, the Dallas Cowboys cost themselves an incredible opportunity to interview some of the best candidates on the coaching carousel. What is Jerry Jones even doing at this point?

DALLAS — Mike McCarthy is not expected to return as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, WFAA has confirmed Monday. ESPN insider Adam Schefter first reported that McCarthy and the Cowboys "engaged in no discussions about a new deal" and that McCarthy is now expected to be a candidate for the open coaching positions in New Orleans and Chicago.
