Holland America has reported its fourth norovirus outbreak of 2025 on a cruise out of Port Everglades, with nearly 150 passengers and 10 crew members falling ill.

Holland America Line offers the choice of six itineraries ranging from 17 to 28 days. The cruises sail aboard Koningsdam, Noordam and Zaandam, and start or end in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Seattle, Washington; or San Diego, California.
It's the second Holland America Line ship to have dozens of passengers fall ill this month, according to the CDC.
Norovirus spreads easily and often causes vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and stomach pain, although people usually recover in a few days. And the virus has many names — stomach flu, stomach bug and cruise ship virus, although you can also get sick on land.
This is the eighth gastrointestinal illness outbreak on cruises to meet the CDC’s threshold for public notification this year.
Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2026-27 Panama Canal and Hawaii cruise seasons. The voyages, ranging from 14 to 28 days, will sail aboard six ships departing from five North American homeports.
