A 37-year-old man has been arrested and the item was declared safe, South Wales Police said.

It's been seven months since a $5 million allocation was given to McFarland and its police department. Construction hasn't began and city officials says it's due to lack of funding.

California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., said in a press release Thursday that a suspicious package was delivered to the California Secretary of State headquarters in Sacramento. Secretary Weber said the unopened package was abruptly given to authorities.

Streets have been closed off as emergency services respond to a suspicious package that has been left at Swansea Central Police Station. A cordon has been put in place on streets surrounding the station at Grove Place as a precaution.
