With the Detroit show’s return to January, the announcements of the North American car, truck, and utility vehicles of the year again kick off the event. On Friday, the Honda Civic Hybrid was named car of the year, the Ford Ranger as truck of the year, and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz as utility of the year.

The Detroit Auto Show is held inside Huntington Place, formerly known as Cobo Hall. The main show floor is spread out over Halls B and C. There are also exhibits and presentations in the Atrium and on the Stage. Click here for the show hours.

An air of optimism among automakers that 2025 will be a strong sales year sought to overcome the subtext of lingering uncertainty surrounding the incoming presidential administration as the Detroit Auto Show returned to its January roots.
