Another weather warning has been issued for Merseyside as the cold weather continues. Temperatures are set to drop from 1am until 11am on Friday, January 10 when a freezing chill of -2 C is forecast. The new warning is a yellow ice alert which will be the seventh consecutive day of weather warnings for the region.

By 8.15pm snow is forecast for the higher ground around Stockport, Tameside and Oldham, before the main band of snow and hail arrives around 8.30pm.
