Utah plans to announce the winning name and logo at a time to be determined following the end of this season and before the start of next season. Hockey Club was the name selected for Utah’s inaugural NHL season after co-owners Ryan and Ashley Smith purchased the contracts of Arizona Coyotes executives, coaches and players.

Beginning on Wednesday night and running through Utah's next four home games, fans in attendance will get to vote on three names, with the winner being announced at a later date.

Utah Hockey Club will not be moving forward with "Yeti" or "Yetis" as its team nickname following rejection by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The team will hold a new in-arena fan vote to pick a permanent name from three finalists.

It remains to be seen what the Utah Hockey Club's eventual nickname will be, but it reportedly won't be "Yeti" or "Yetis." ESPN's Greg Wyshynski

On Jan. 29, the final three choices for the name of Utah's NHL team were revealed: Utah Hockey Club, Utah Mammoth, and Utah Wasatch. Fans can vote for their favorite team name in person at the next few games.

The franchise will use a final round of fan voting to decide among the Utah Mammoth, Utah Hockey Club and Utah Wasatch. Team officials backed away from including Yeti as a finalist after being unable to work out a co-existence agreement with Yeti Coolers to use the name in branding and merchandising.
