TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — With streets still lined with sand and debris, people were just starting to recover from Hurricane Helene in Treasure Island when word of Hurricane Milton arrived.

Treasure Island is covered in debris, and homes have been destroyed. "It was just devastating. We had two feet of water in the house and lost everything…and we lost two vehicles," said Doubelday.

Treasure Island beaches are now open to the public after Hurricane Helene and Milton made major impact on the area.

Business owners in Treasure Island are one step closer to relief. City leaders unanimously advanced an ordinance to help restaurants and bars recovering from recent storms.
