PHENIX CITY, Ala. — Starting Friday April 5, a portion of Stadium Drive will close for roadwork. The south-bound lane of Stadium Drive will be closed between South Railroad Street and Opelika Road.

PHENIX CITY ... June 18. City officials say a contractor working for the city will be closing South Railroad Street, between 21st Avenue and Stadium Drive, until the work is completed.

Sumbry identified the victim as Jessie Snellings, 31. Sumbry said the accident occurred on Stadium Drive in Phenix City. Snellings was pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m. at a Columbus hospital.

Authorities in Phenix City are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic case on Stadium Drive. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin, officers said.
