Did you see it? Some in the western suburbs of Chicago Tuesday, including Yorkville and Wadsworth, reported seeing objects streaking across the night sky, leaving a trail of what appeared to be flames in their wake.

Midwest as people in Illinois and Michigan also reported seeing the dazzling display in the sky. Derek Brown of Potterville, Mich. captured video of the falling debris from the front porch of his home.

A satellite, initially identified as Starlink-5693, reentered Earth’s atmosphere Tuesday, causing a dazzling display visible from states such as Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin. Famed astronomer Jonathan McDowell said the Starlink satellite was closely tracked by space agencies.

People in the Midwest region of the United States, including Illinois and Wisconsin, witnessed space debris as it broke apart in its descent through Earth's atmosphere on Jan. 28.
