SILVERDALE - Three masked robbers subdued a U.S. Postal Service contractor on the loading dock of the Silverdale Post Office Friday evening and escaped with bags of money.

Elmira Kline has been appointed postmaster of Silverdale and will assume the position by mid-April. Kline joined the U.S. Postal Service in 1965 as a clerk in the Philadelphia 30th Street post office.
