The Plants vs. Zombies series started in 2009 as a tower-defense game for browsers. Its first spin-off series, Garden Warfare, turned the franchise into a team-based shooter.

PvZ Heroes will also include new characters from Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 like Super Brainz, Z-Mech, Citron, and Rose. It launches with a dozen Heroes and hundreds of other characters.
