In a terrifying new feature (and a very cruel prank) added to one of China's many transparent skywalks, special effects made glass panels appear shattered giving tourists quite a scare.
The glass bridge, on the eastern face of the Taihang Mountain, hangs 3,871 feet above sea level, which would probably be a thrilling (or terrifying) height even without novelty cracking glass.
In China's northern Hebei Province sits the Taihang Mountain range, about 1,500 to 2,000 meters high. And somewhere in the middle of that is a skywalk with glass panels for floors.

The bridge, which opened on Sept 20, is made with three layers of glass, and only one layer broke, the spokesperson said. The Telegraph reports glass walkways have become very popular in China.

And if that doesn't scare you enough, this will: China plans to open another glass bridge -- the biggest, baddest in the world -- at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon about 186 miles northwest of Shiniuzhai.
The glass walkway is set to open in August and will stretch across southwest China’s Huangguoshu Scenic Area, known for its waterfalls and limestone formations. It will be 1,804 feet long.
