The Orpheum’s Second Century Campaign has already raised 73% of the $9.5 million goal. It hopes to raise the final $2.6 million by June when the theatre will close for a year of restoration work.

The 103-year-old theater is about to undergo a yearlong restoration, and though people have complained relentlessly about its seats over the years, many have been asking to take them home.

The Orpheum is hosting Seat Week, May 27-29. People can visit during open house hours and select what Olden calls the “famously infamous theater seats” for a suggested donation of $30.
