The Justice Department released video of the federal prison area where Jeffrey Epstein was held the night he died in 2019. Just before midnight, the footage skips ahead by one minute and two seconds.

The footage was released alongside a two-page memo from the department that said after a "thorough investigation," FBI investigators concluded that the wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, who was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, died by suicide in his jail cell.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said it is not unusual for a minute to be missing from security footage of Jeffrey Epstein’s jail cell, saying this happens when the video will “reset.” Bondi provided clarifications on the Department of Justice concluding its Epstein investigation,
