Two Wichita groups have organized three events to commemorate the life and ideals of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on the federal holiday — Monday, Jan. 20 — that recognizes the civil rights leader’s birthday.

Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and while all federal offices will be closed, including the state Motor Vehicle Commission and post office (except for priority mail), there will be a number of scheduled events to mark the day.
