Following the team's fifth spring practice Saturday morning, Brian Kelly told reporters that LSU is transitioning its annual spring football game that caps the spring session and its 15 allotted practices to a "much more engaging event for our fans with our players."

It appears LSU has joined a growing list of prominent college football programs to not play a spring game amid concerns around tampering.

Spring practice began this week for head coach Brian Kelly's Tigers following a 9-4 finish last season. LSU previously announced on Jan. 28 that it would be business as usual this spring, meaning a spring scrimmage game would take place with fans in attendance at Tiger Stadium.

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers will hold an open practice on April 12 for fans to attend in Tiger Stadium rather than a formal Spring Game in 2025. The program will hold an autograph session following the practice with fans to attend in Death Valley.
