Ukraine’s offensive in Kursk has dealt a heavy blow to Russia—nearly 40,000 troops lost, including 16,000 killed.

The operation in Kursk Oblast may become an "important part" of future negotiations to end Russia's war, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that Russia has suffered significant losses in its six-month-long Kursk operation, with approximately 40,000 Russian troops lost since the operation began in August 2024.
