A U.S. military plane carrying 104 deported Indian illegal immigrants landed in India on Wednesday, authorities said, part of President Donald Trump's immigration agenda a week before he is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington.

According to the Pew Research Center, an estimated 725,000 undocumented Indian immigrants reside in the U.S., making them the third-largest group after Mexico and El Salvador. The U.S. has identified approximately 18,000 Indian nationals for deportation.

The flight appeared to be the first use of an American military aircraft to deport people to India, which is one of the top sources of illegal immigration to the United States.
