The bodies of three workers, who were trapped inside a coal mine in Assam's Dima Hasao district, were recovered on Saturday from the quarry during rescue operations, an official said

Nine workers were trapped inside the mine in Umrangso, a remote industrial town near the Assam-Meghalaya border, on Monday when it was flooded by a sudden gush of water.

This is the second body rescued by teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Indian Army and Assam Rifles. The deceased miner, whose body was recovered at 7:36 AM has been identified as Lt. Lijen Magar, (27) a resident of Kalamati village in the district.
