If you forget, you can always open the Symbol palette—in any program where you can type text, open the Edit menu and choose Emoji & Symbols—and just click what you want.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts to format text as a superscript or subscript. To add a special character like the trademark or copyright symbol, use the Special characters item in the Insert menu.
