Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker will start for the National League in the Midsummer Classic, becoming the first Cubs outfield duo to start the game since 1936.

For the first time in 70 years, the Chicago Cubs will have two starters in the outfield for the annual Midsummer Classic.

At least that’s how Cubs manager Craig Counsell sees it. The 34-year-old left-handed Cubs pitcher was named to the National League All-Star team on Sunday and joins outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker, who were announced as starters on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the Chicago Cubs learned how many other players would join Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

One of the most glaring omissions was Chicago Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki, who has recorded a batting average of .263 on the season so far, along with 25 home runs and 77 runs batted in with six games to go in the first half of the 2025 season.

The Chicago Cubs will have plenty of representation at the MLB All-Star Game later this month in Atlanta. This includes players currently playing for the Northsiders and former Cubs who have become All-Stars elsewhere.

The Chicago Cubs have been driven by their sluggers all season, so it makes sense that two of them will start for the National League All-Star team.

Chicago had three players selected to the All-Star team, but the argument could be made that other Cubs deserved some love as well.
