The No. 13 Texas A&M Aggies bounced back from their season-opening loss to the UCF Knights on Friday in an 87-55 win over newly-named East Texas A&M, previously Texas A&M-Commerce. Aggies transfer guard Zhuric Phelps came off the bench and scored a game-high 18 points on 8 of 13 shooting in just 18 minutes of play.

No. 13 Texas A&M men’s basketball bounced back from a season-opening loss to dominate East Texas A&M, newly-renamed Texas A&M-Commerce, on both ends of the floor in an 87-55 win on Friday night. In his first game as an Aggie, senior SMU transfer guard Zhuric Phelps led the team with 18 points in its home opener at Reed Arena.

On Saturday, it was the football team; Monday night, the Aggies men's basketball team watched jubilant Central Florida supporters storm the court after a 64-61 upset. No. 16 Texas A&M held a lead as large as 11 in its season opener but couldn't sustain the advantage. UCF's largest lead was just three points.
