NHTSA is launching an investigation into 1.4 million Honda vehicles and oversights during the automakers' previous recalls.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating concerns that engines on 1.4 million Honda and Acura vehicles might fail.

According to reports, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is opening a probe into 1.4 million Honda vehicles over reports of them having serious engine issues.Back in November 2023,

A year into the recall, though, authorities aren’t sure Honda is doing right by affected vehicle owners.

A 2023 recall may not have included as many vehicles as it should have.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened a formal investigation into more than 1.4 million Honda and Acura vehicles due to a potential engine defect involving connecting rod bearings. The investigation, which follows a previous recall, will examine if additional vehicles need to be recalled.

The investigation is looking at vehicles that may have a “failure of connecting rod bearings leading to complete engine failure."

Last year Honda recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles due to engine failure and this year they may have to recall more.
