DECATUR, GA — MARTA police announce they’ve charged a third suspect in the shooting death of bus driver Leroy Ramos. The 47-year-old Ramos and three juveniles got into an altercation last Friday evening in the bus loop at the Decatur Station. Two of the suspects were immediately arrested and charged with murder.

MARTA Chief of Police Scott Kreher said the shooting, which stemmed from a fare disagreement about getting on the bus, happened after 6:30 p.m. at the Decatur Station. Officers received a 911 call that there was an altercation between the bus operator and three people.

The family of 47-year-old Leroy Ramos is now left with a huge void in their hearts. “He was a great husband, he was a great man. He just wanted to be a provider, come home,” said Tavisha, his sister-in-law.

A third suspect in the fatal shooting of a MARTA bus driver last week in downtown Decatur has surrendered to police. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the juvenile suspect turned himself in Monday afternoon.
