It’s the end of an era as the iconic Center City Macy’s store, nestled in the historic Wanamaker building, will close later this year, the company announced on Thursday. The 1300 Market St. location has been the home to Macy’s since 2006 and is one of 66 store closures Macy’s announced across the country.
